The HAC Birkin, or Haut a Courroies meaning “belt top” in French, was the original design from which the famous Birkin bag sprung. The HAC was designed in the early days of Hermes as a large bag meant to carry a saddle. In the century of so since it’s inception, the HAC has been issued in numerous sizes and materials, for a time often coinciding with similar Birkin bags being made at the time.
